Tirisiti Nativity

Between 22^nd December and 5^th January, the Tirisiti Nativity returns to the Principal Theatre of Alcoy ready to break records. Last year, over 12,000 people enjoyed the adventures of Tirisiti and Tereseta. Are you going to miss out on the chance to visit the province of Alicante and marvel at this centennial gem?

Principal Theatre

The Betlem del Tirisiti is of great historic and anthropological importance; in fact, together with another small puppet show in Cadiz, it is the most singular and oldest show of its kind still going in Spain. The play is divided into two chapters, the Sacred Part and a Part about local customs and manners, which correspond, respectively, to the story of the birth of Christ and scenes specific to Alcoy. The representation of the nativity reflects local customs and even events featuring characters that the public might recognise.
