Alicante
Alicante, Valencia and Castellón de la Plana, three cities with a strong Mediterranean personality, welcoming and surprising, each with its own style, an ideal place to spend the bank holiday just around the corner.
Alicante was born by the sea and offers a beautiful backdrop, watched over by the impressive Mount Benacantil and Santa Bárbara Castle. Generous in its festivities and traditions, with lively beaches and an animated port, the city that provided the point of departure for the prestigious Volvo Ocean Race in 2008 offers a thousand possibilities: strolling along the Esplanade, climbing up to Santa Bárbara Castle, visiting its museums and churches, such as the church of Santa María and the San Nicolás Co-Cathedral, or relaxing on its fantastic coastline, to name a few.
Catedral and El Fadrí
Valencia, an ideal place to enjoy major sporting events and entertainment: the 32nd America's Cup, the Formula 1 European Grand Prix, the Global Champions Tour and, recently, the Valencia Open... A city that stylishly combines tradition and modernity, with charming traditional quarters such as the Barrio del Carmen, unique spaces such as the Central Market, the Plaza de la Virgen and Plaza de la Reina squares, with El Miguelete bell tower and the Cathedral standing guard over them... and in contrast, the modernity of the impressive City of Arts and Sciences and its extensive range of culture and leisure alternatives.
Castellón de la Plana is a surprising destination. Castelló Cultural offers visitors a varied programme of artistic activities spread over five venues: the Principal Theatre, the Museum of Fine Art, the Contemporary Art Space and the Castellón de la Plana and Peñíscola Auditoria and Congress Centres. Visiting the Planetarium or strolling around the historic quarter, with the Plaza Mayor square, the Town Hall, the Central Market and the Santa María Co-Cathedral, are always a pleasure.
